History

The Ramallah Club of Washington, D.C. is a local chapter of the American Federation of Ramallah, Palestine (AFRP), which is a non-political, non-profit organization. The members of the AFRP are from the original family of Ramallah; each one of us can trace our family lines back to the founder of the city of Ramallah, Palestine.

The Ramallah people of Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Maryland began meeting regularly in the early 1960’s at the homes of various community members. As their attendance grew larger, they decided they needed a clubhouse where they could continue to grow as an organization and increase involvement.

As the community continued to expand, they finally found a centralized location where they could hold their meetings and accommodate the size of their chapter. In the early 1980’s, the community leaders purchased the present-day Ramallah Club of Washington, D.C., located at 2631 Vienna, VA.
